Madonna has once again made the headlines – this time for saying that her fans should work hard and save all year to afford her concert ticket prices.

The singer, who releases her new single Give Me All Your Luvin' today, made the comments in an interview with U.S. publication Newsweek.

When asked about the expensive costs of her concert tickets, she said: "Start saving your pennies now. People spend $300 (£190) on crazy things all the time, things like handbags. So work all year, scrape the money together and come to my show.

"I'm worth it."

The 53 year-old is expected to tour this year following the eagerly-anticipated release of her new album MDNA on 26 March.

Last night, Madonna premiered her new single – which features both MIA and Nicki Minaj – on American Idol.

The trio will perform the track at the Super Bowl, this Sunday.
