A one-word tweet from author Stephen Fry has boosted the career of an aspiring singer – after it increased traffic to his latest video by one million hits.
Leeds-born songwriter Jon Gomm received the public seal of approval from Fry when he updated his popular micro-blogging page, earlier this week.
After simply posting the word “Wow” with a link to the video of Gomm's single Passionflower, his three-million followers responded by clicking, re-tweeting and favouriting it.
The move has seen the video, which can be seen below, attract an extra million hits.
This in turn lead to the world’s attention being drawn in, with David Crosby from Crosby, Still and Nash being counted among his fans, The Daily Telegraph report.
As a result, Gomm has also been invited to perform on TV stations across Europe.
"My previous life - of driving from my home in Leeds to Vienna to play a concert – has suddenly changed dramatically," he told the Telegraph.
