A new charity single recorded by some of the UK's best new lesbian talent will get its premiere, this weekend.

The initiative, entitled The L Project, was created by songwriter Georgey Payne and aims to raise as much money as possible for the LGBT community.

Featuring a number of openly-gay artists - including Horse, Sandra MacBeth, Emma Kavanagh, Christina Novelli, Nicky Mitchell, O'Hooley & Tidow, Nina McCann and Amy Louise Sutton - the track, entitled It Does Get Better, combats homophobic bullying.

The single will be played on Sunday 29 January at 22.30pm GMT British Time by clicking this link: http://www.thel-project.com/songpreview.php

The site features a countdown timer so people in varying time-zones can listen to it simultaneously.

The plan is to galvanise listeners and generate interest on social networking sites Facebook and Twitter.

"We are asking for people to meet us on our facebook page at this time too so everyone can chat together after hearing the song," said a spokesperson.

The single will be released on 11 February.
