Award-winning gay film Weekend, which depicts a burgeoning relationship between two men over a whirlwind weekend, is to be released on DVD in March, having won accolades and acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic.
The film, which was made on a shoestring budget of just £120,000, tells the unconventional love story of Russell a young, gay man, and Glen, who he meets in a nightclub. The pair become inseparable over the next 48 hours, forming a relationship that could change their lives.
The lo-fi British drama, written and directed by Andrew Haigh and starring Tom Cullen and Chris New, picked up two awards at the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) in December, including Achievement In Production and Most Promising Newcomer for Tom Cullen's performance.
Weekend is released on DVD and Blu-Ray on 19 March 2012.
