While Britain’s golfers continue to impress in the professional game, Briton James Lloyd also held his nerve to claim two medals in the golf competition at the EuroGames in Rotterdam last weekend, while there was further success in the pool.

Lloyd claimed gold in Division 2 of the golf competition, beating off a strong home Dutch contingent, while also finishing in a bronze medal position in Division 1.

Lloyd managed a score of 58 to pip Dutchmen Dennis Lens van Rijn and Viktor Luttikholt by one point in the Division 2 rankings after his day two score of 32 was enough to clinch victory. Lloyd was lying sixth going into the second day after a first round score of 26.

His Dutch rivals did gain revenge, however, as Lloyd lost out to both van Rijn and Luttikholt in the Division 1 category, finishing in the bronze medal position.

Fellow Brits Martin Watkins and Helen Woodcock‐Downey were placed 14th and 15th in Division 2 with scores of 43 and 42 respectively.

London Water polo team London Orca - Hole Blowers, meanwhile, came out on top at the EuroGames after a 5-3 victory over Gay Swim Amsterdam 1 in the finals of the exhilarating competition. Manchester’s Sharks made it into fifth place after beating AquaHomo Paris in the final round.

Additional success in the pool was secured by Out to Swim London, which won a total of 18 gold medals, 9 silver and 10 bronze - enough to see the London-based club finish fourth in the overall rankings.
