Constance Mc Millan The US teen who was not allowed to attend her a prom because her school would not allow her to take her girlfriend as her date has revealed to PinkPaper.com that she has a lot of hope that Proposition 8 - which bans same-sex weddings in California - will be repealed eventually.

Constance McMillen, who attracted international support following her school’s controversial decision, spoke to us exclusively.

She said: “If it goes to the Supreme Court then that means it’s legal everywhere and in a way, I really feel like it’s a good idea that they put a hold on it. I think that the longer we wait for it to go to Supreme Court, the better chance there is that it will be ruled unconstitutional,

“I have a lot of hope, but we’ve got a lot to lose too,” she admitted.

Constance also told us how supportive one of her favourite bands has been. “Green Day, Cat Cora [celebrity chef] and Lance Bass gave money to and helped with the Second Chance Prom. Green Day have been great. They gave me tickets to their Broadway show American Idiot, no questions asked. They’re just really cool.”
