Portia de Rossi has filed a petition with the Los Angeles County Superior Court to change her name, according to reports.
The Australian actress, who found fame on the TV series Ally McBeal, was born Amanda Lee Rogers, and changed her name to Portia de Rossi whilst still in her teens, reports TMZ.
She has applied to change her name to Portia Lee James DeGeneres, citing the reason “petitioner is taking the last name of her spouse.”
De Rossi married comedian and talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres in 2008.
TMZ reports that name change petitions are granted routinely.
