Margate is to play host to thousands of gay men and women again this summer, with plans for this year’s Thanet Pride just announced.
The event, that last year attracted a reputed 15,000 people, will take place on Saturday July 24 with a parade, market area and funfair among the attractions.
A cabaret stage will be presenting a special ‘Pride Icons’ show with tributes to Lady GaGa, Freddie Mercury, Abba, Karen Carpenter and George Michael while other performers include drag queen Kitty Monroe and London-based band Moon Shot.
The event is backed by Thanet District Council, Margate Charter Trustees and Thanet LeisureForce, along with local gay venue Sundowners.
