The Chair of the Gay business Association - often considered the gay Chamber of Commerce - has resigned, it was announced today.
Gino Meriano steps down from the role after three years.
Originally formed in 1983, the GBA was set-up as a trade association to fight the inequalities faced from higher authorities.
In a statement released this morning, Meriano said: “It has been an exciting 3 years. My aim back in 2007 was to re-design the concept of the GBA with increased events, positive interaction and a vision to see the Chamber incorporate the digital revolution that is changing the way we all do business in the market place today.
"I hope to see this continue and grow for the GBA with the new chair and committee. I have always believed, and still do, that the GBA must continue to push boundaries ensuing there is always a stable and unified voice for all LGB and T business in the UK and overseas.
"I am delighted to announce that my ongoing work and commitment with other chambers across the world continues to grow. I will always support the GBA through my new channels and associations, uniting these Chambers and bringing effective and positive action to the way we do business in the LGB and T market place.”
