Hundreds of people were serenaded by the London Gay Men’s Chorus as they raced up the 38 floors of London’s most iconic building, the Gherkin, in aid of the NSPCC yesterday.
The event, which drew over 300 athletes, aims to raise £125,000 for the charity’s Child’s Voice Appeal.
Colman Cawe, NSPCC corporate fundraising manager said, "I’m extremely proud of how successful this event has been. Its popularity has been greatly down to the exclusive access we can provide to the Gherkin, which is thanks to the NSPCC London Business Group.”

The London's Gay Men's Choir has made many TV and radio appearances including Top of the Pops, So Graham Norton, Loose Ends, Ruby Wax Christmas special, London Tonight, the Paul Ross weekend breakfast show on LBC, and Comic Relief, and has sung and performed with stars including Sir Elton John, The Human League, Heather Small, Damien Hirst, Simon Callow, Alison Jiear, Jocelyn Brown, Toyah Willcox, K.D. Lang, Rula Lenska, Sandi Toksvig, Dame Cleo Laine and The Pet Shop Boys.
Between April 2008 and March 2009 more than 10,000 people from London called the NSPCC Helpline because they were worried about a child (includes 0207 and 0208 areas), over 36,000 children were counselled by ChildLine's London base.
