Emmerdale bad boy Aaron Livesy will question his sexuality in an upcoming episode of the hit British soap, it has been revealed.
In a new storyline due to commence next week, Livesy, played by 18-year-old Danny Miller, will be thrown into emotional turmoil after trying to kiss his best friend Adam Barton following a car crash.
Until now, no suggestion has been made that the bad tempered mechanic may be grappling with his sexuality.
But in an interview with entertainment website Digital Spy, Miller confirmed the news and claimed: “I think it's different because it's so unexpected. If you could pick one person in the village in Emmerdale who's gay, the last person you think of will be Aaron.”
Emmerdale, which at its 90s peak was watched by 18 million people, has a long history of featuring high profile gay characters and storylines.
Commenting on the move, Miller commented: "I don't know whether he is or he isn't [gay]. He's a very confused young lad.
“He's had a lot of problems in the past with his dad and with his mum so he's never had anybody who can put their arm around him and tell him it's going to be alright. That's what's different about the story and the character. I don't think any other soaps have put this across."
