Golden Globe-winning actress Claire Danes graced London's Leicester
Square this week for the UK premiere of Me And Orson Welles.
Thousands of fans attended the event, which saw the 30-year-old star
- who shot to fame in Channel 4's critically acclaimed My So-Called Life - court the media
with co-star Zac Efron.
Danes called the former High School Musical actor ''absolutely gorgeous''.
''I've grown accustomed to the hysteria that tends to surround Zac
and I get it, because he's absolutely gorgeous, but even more than that
he's a terrific actor,'' she said.
Last night, PinkPaper.com's News Editor, Peter Lloyd, interviewed Danes at London's Soho hotel. When asked how she has changed as an artist since her first lead role in Jonathan Kaplan's Brokedown Palace - alongside Kate Beckinsale - she said she feels more comfortable with her confidence.
"I feel more comfortable asking for things that I need on a project. I feel able to assert myself. I used to worry that that was a sign of arrogance and now I know it's a sign of responsibility and maturity. I know it's OK to ask those needs to be met"
When asked what work she was most - and least - proud of, she replied: "The things that people have appreciated over time tend to be the things I'm reminded of and return to and settle on as being good. Public opinion does inform, even without me being aware of it, my own personal opinion of the work I have done. My So-Called Life, Romeo and Juliet and Shopgirl are the ones that have resonated the loudest and the longest."
Me And Orson Welles, which is directed and produced by Richard Linklater, is released on Friday December 4.
