A man has been attacked in London's latest homophobic hate crime.

A man has been attacked in London's latest homophobic hate crime.

The unidentified man, in his fifties, was attacked in public toilets at Ilford, east London, on Saturday. He was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

As a result, two 18-year old men have been arrested and are currently being held in custody.

Police found the man - who suffered serious head injuries - after they were called to a public toilet in Chapel Road, Ilford at 11.10am.

Police are appealing for anyone who might have witnessed the incident or seen anyone acting suspiciously around the Chapel Road area to come forward.
